St. petersburg: A delegation from the Angolan Supreme Court, led by Vice-President Efigenia Clemente, has been actively participating in the 15th International Justice Forum in St. Petersburg, Russia. The forum, which concludes on June 26, has provided a platform for discussions on enhancing judicial cooperation between Angola and Russia.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the delegation, alongside Angolan Ambassador Augusto da Silva Cunha, engaged in several meetings with senior Russian officials to discuss ongoing and future judicial collaborations. A key meeting was held with Deputy Minister of Justice Konstantin Yuryevich Panferov, who expressed satisfaction with the current agreement between Russia and Angola's Ministry of Justice and expressed interest in further expanding institutional ties.
The delegation also met with Ilya Igorevitch Rogatchov, Special Representative of President Vladimir Putin for International Criminal Cooperation. Discussions centered on global criminal justice issues and Russia's position regarding the International Criminal Court. These meetings underscore a mutual interest in strengthening cooperation in international criminal justice matters.
In a gesture symbolizing mutual respect and collaboration, institutional gifts were exchanged. The delegation will continue to attend panels on Thursday, focusing on fortifying international justice sectors. The day's activities will culminate in an official dinner at the Elagin Island Palace, hosted by the Russian Minister of Justice and St. Petersburg Governor Alexander Beglov.
