Mbanza kongo: The Border Guard Police in Zaire province prevented the illegal entry into national territory of 176 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) over the last 48 hours. These individuals were attempting to cross the border perimeter unlawfully.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Superintendent Lus Bernardo, the spokesperson for the National Police in Zaire, provided this information to the press on Saturday in Mbanza Kongo. He noted that during this period, 66 different border infractions were recorded at various posts, including Luvo, Kanga, Ntoyo, Kinguvo, Kanga Kinguvo, and Marco-12.
Lus Bernardo also stated that during Christmas, authorities seized 1,040 liters of fuel and various other products intended for the DRC. Among the detained illegal immigrants, 112 are men who have been referred to the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) for further processing.
The province of Zaire, with its municipalities Luvo, Quªlo, Soyo, N³qui, and Cuimba, shares a 310 km border with the Central Congo region of the DRC.
