Angola’s Consumer Price Index Records Notable Deceleration

Luanda: Angola's National Consumer Price Index (IPCN) registered a variation of 14.56% in January 2026, which represents a deceleration of 1.13 percentage points compared to the previous month.

According to Angola Press News Agency, sent to ANGOP, the slowdown also represents 11.92 percentage points compared to the same period of the previous year. The year-on-year variation in the IPCN over the last 12 months indicates that the 'Transport' class was the one that recorded the biggest increase in the price index, with a year-on-year variation of 19.07 percent.

Also noteworthy are the increases in the classes 'Housing, Water, Electricity and Fuel', with 16.60%, 'Health' with 15.92%, respectively, and 'Food and non-alcoholic beverages', with 14.89%.
