ANGOTIC 2026 Officially Opens to Propel Angola’s Digital Transformation

Luanda: The 6th edition of the Angolan International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies (ANGOTIC) officially commenced on Thursday, in Luanda, led by the Minister of Telecommunications, IT and Mass Media, M¡rio Oliveira.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the forum will address pivotal topics including AI and the Digital Economy, Fake News, Electronic Governance, Local Products and Services, Digital Television, Data Center Management, Regulation of Communications, and Digital Infrastructures. These discussions will be facilitated by both Angolan and international experts.

Notable speakers at the event include the Director-General of the United Arab Emirates Space Agency, Salem Butti Salem Al Oubaisi, the Executive Director of the South African National Space Agency (SANSA), Humbulani Mudau, the President of the Portuguese Space Agency, Ricardo Conde, and the Director-General of Space in Africa (SiA), Temidayo Onionsun. The forum, which runs until Saturday, features ten thematic sessions, ten roundtables, three innovation stock grants, and five workshops.

The event is designed to enhance Angola's digital transformation by promoting technological solutions aimed at strengthening strategic sectors such as connectivity, cybersecurity, AI, and digital government. ANGOTIC serves as a crucial platform for exchanging knowledge, showcasing innovations, and fostering digital entrepreneurship, uniting key players from both the national and international technological landscapes.

With the theme "On the Road to Digital Transformation," the current edition anticipates drawing 20,000 visitors, aiming to surpass the 10,000 attendees of 2025. Additionally, the forum includes attractions for children, such as the "professions of the future" space, which provides an interactive environment for children to explore and learn about ICTs.
