Luanda: Angola and Namibia signed a memorandum of cooperation in the field of information technologies on the sidelines of the opening of the 6th edition of the Angola International Forum on Information and Communication Technologies (ANGOTIC-2026). The agreement, signed by Ministers M¡rio Augusto da Silva Oliveira of Angola and Ema Di³filos of Namibia, aims to strengthen bilateral collaboration in the technology sector, promote the exchange of knowledge, develop skills, and implement joint projects in the area of information and communication technologies.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the holding of ANGOTIC 2026 reaffirms Angola's role as a central hub for the discussion and promotion of technological innovation in the region. This event attracts experts, companies, and government representatives to discuss the digital future, serving as a platform for knowledge exchange, presentation of innovations, and encouragement of digital entrepreneurship. The forum brings together key players in the national and international technological ecosystem.
This year's edition, under the motto "On the Road to Digital Transformation," is expected to attract 20,000 visitors, doubling the attendance of 10,000 from 2025. For children, there is a special area dedicated to "professions of the future," offering a space for discovery, creativity, and learning where they can explore ICTs interactively.
Scheduled until Saturday, the forum will feature 10 thematic sessions, an equal number of roundtables, three innovation fairs, and five workshops, providing a comprehensive agenda for attendees interested in the latest advancements and opportunities in the digital world.
