Caxito: At least 20 families have been rendered homeless following the rainfall that occurred between April 1 and 7 in the Bengo province municipalities. The spokesperson of the Civil Protection and Firefighters, Third Deputy Chief Fire Officer Costa Adriano Ngunza, reported this situation on Wednesday. According to Angola Press News Agency, during this period, 20 homes and 23 trees were damaged across the affected municipalities. The persistent rains did not result in any fatalities; however, they did cause significant damage to infrastructure, including three streetlights, a church, and the roof of a multipurpose hall. One person sustained injuries due to these incidents. Additionally, the Bengo Provincial Hospital grounds were flooded as a result of the heavy rains.
