Authorities Prevent Entry of 56 Illegal Citizens at Zaire Province Border

Zaire: A total of 56 citizens of the Democratic Republic of Congo (DRC) were stopped last weekend by the Border Police in the province of Zaire for attempting to illegally enter the national territory. According to Angola Press News Agency, the acting spokesperson for the Provincial Command of the National Police, Sub-Inspector Kediamosiko Helena, stated that the illegal immigrants were intercepted at the border posts of Ntoyo, Luvo, and Kanga Nguvu. The individuals intended to reach the city of Mbanza-Kongo in Zaire before continuing their journey to the capital, Luanda. Sub-Inspector Helena reported that after undergoing administrative procedures, the citizens of the neighboring country were handed over to the Migration and Foreigners Service (SME) in the region for appropriate processing. The province of Zaire shares a 310 km border with the Central Congo region of the DRC, through the municipalities of Luvo, Soyo, Nóqui, and Cuimba.
