BDA’s Success Should Be Measured by Real Economic Impact – Minister

Luanda: The success of the Development Bank of Angola (BDA) should be measured by its real impact on transforming the national economy, going beyond the mere volume of funds provided, Finance Minister Vera Daves de Sousa stated in Luanda on Friday. Speaking at the opening of the inaugural "BDA Summit 2026," the minister emphasized that the institution does not merely finance companies but directly contributes to funding the country's future.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the focus must be on supporting structural investments that boost domestic production, foster innovation, and stimulate job creation. Held under the theme "Transforming the Present and Building the Future," the event served as a strategic forum for reflecting on the challenges facing the bank, with a particular emphasis on strengthening the role of its staff in promoting excellence, innovation, and greater organizational efficiency.

Established in 2006, the Development Bank of Angola is a public financial institution with a mission to foster sustainable economic growth by financing projects that contribute to increasing national wealth and improving the people's well-being.
