Bengo: Government calls for strengthened measures against road accidents

Caxito -National Police in northern Bengo province have been urged to strengthen preventive measures against road accidents, ahead of the Christmas and New Year festive season.

The appeal was launched today by the provincial governor, Maria Antónia Nelumba, who said that there is a rising trend in the number of cases in this period.

Speaking during the general graduation ceremony of the police officers, Nelumba said that Bengo province is a transit route to other provinces such as Luanda, Uige and Zaire.

Maria Antónia Nelumba reiterated the availability of the provincial government to support for National Police in whatever is necessary.

The provincial commander of the National Police in Bengo, Delfim Kalulu Inácio, reaffirmed the commitment of his staff from various organs of the Ministry of Interior in ensuring the festive season in Bengo province.

He said that over 3,000 officers have been mobilised to secure the festive season.
