Luanda: Botswana President Duma Gideon Boko praised Angola's democratic process during an official visit to Luanda on Tuesday, expressing confidence in the stability of democratic institutions across southern Africa.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the Botswana President commended Angola's democratic framework, writing in the National Assembly's guestbook that it was an honor to visit the country's legislative body during his three-day state visit to Luanda that started Monday.
During the visit, President Boko and Angolan President Joo Louren§o witnessed the signing of several bilateral agreements aimed at deepening economic and political ties.
The leaders also attended the inaugural Angola-Botswana Economic Forum, designed to foster private sector partnerships and expand trade across key sectors including diamond mining, agriculture, healthcare, and tourism.
"Both nations are leveraging strategic partnerships to diversify their economies and drive cross-border commercial growth," the leaders noted in joint remarks.
Relations between the two southern African nations date back to 1975. Both countries continue to collaborate closely through the Southern African Development Community (SADC) to promote regional stability and security.
