Lobito: Flávio Vieira, the president of the Brazilian organization Portos Rios, on Saturday expressed his admiration for the quality of service, infrastructure, and security system offered by the Port of Lobito. Vieira shared his observations with ANGOP following a visit to the port by members of the Association of Ports of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (APLOP) and ambassadors from their respective countries accredited in Angola. According to Angola Press News Agency, Vieira believes the port is on the right path, possessing all the necessary elements to grow and establish itself as a regional and global benchmark. Highlighting the significance of the port, Vieira stated, "The port is a key part of the Lobito Corridor, which will help propel it even further." Vieira also noted the advantages gained from exchanging experiences among APLOP members, emphasizing the shared challenges and collaborative efforts to find solutions. He remarked, "Here at APLOP, we share what we have so that these technological advan ces generate returns, allowing us to achieve more sustainable solutions while focusing on green ports and the blue economy." The 16th Congress of APLOP took place from October 2 to 4 in Lobito, with the congress focusing on "Port Sustainability and the Blue Economy." During the congress, Manuel Nazareth Neto of Angola was elected as the president.
