Cape Verde president begins visit to Angola Sunday

Luanda – The President of Cape Verde, José Maria Neves, will begin a state visit to Angola this Sunday (9), at the invitation of his Angolan counterpart, João Lourenço, aimed at strengthening friendship and cooperation relations between the two Portuguese-speaking countries.

The Angolan Ministry of Foreign Affairs refers in a note that the visit program, which runs until Wednesday (12), consist of a visit by José Maria Neves to the António Agostinho Neto Memorial.

The program indicates that, at the Memorial, the Cape Verdean Head of State will place a wreath of flowers in the sarcophagus of the first President of Angola.

The visit’s agenda includes official talks between delegations from both countries, at the Presidential Palace of Cidade Alta, and an extraordinary plenary session of the National Assembly, during which José Maria Neves, will delivers a speech.
