CASTEL Group Unveils New Wastewater Treatment Plant in Bom Jesus

Bom jesus: The Secretary of State for Industry, Carlos Rodrigues, inaugurated the CASTEL Group Wastewater Treatment Plant (WWTP) on Wednesday in the municipality of Bom Jesus, Icolo e Bengo province. This state-of-the-art facility surpasses its predecessor with a capacity of 4,000 cubic meters of wastewater, doubling the previous capacity of 2,000 cubic meters.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the WWTP is designed to optimize the water used in the beer production process, enhancing its quality before returning it to the Kwanza River. The facility's lab operates 24 hours a day to ensure the water quality meets rigorous standards.

During the inauguration, Francis Batista, the general director of the CASTEL Group in Angola, emphasized that the plant's construction reflects a strategic commitment to sustainable growth. He highlighted the importance of responsible actions in addressing environmental challenges, aiming to return water to the river with acceptable quality after undergoing treatment.

Batista further explained that the initiative aligns with a circular economy approach, with COBEJE striving to incorporate sustainable solutions throughout their production processes. He commended the State's efforts in promoting sustainable industrialization and responsible resource management.

Expressing commitment to environmental preservation and responsible investment, Batista stated, "With this act, we reaffirm our commitment to Angola in preserving the environment, ensuring the sustainability of future actions, and we will continue to invest responsibly, creating economic, social, and environmental value for the country."

The development of this infrastructure required an investment exceeding 5 billion US dollars.
