Cawtar center hosts training session on disabled women who survived gender-based violence


Tunis: A training session on how the media addresses the issue of women with hearing and visual disabilities who have survived gender-based violence started, on Saturday, with the participation of representatives from public and private media outlets

The two-day session is part of the project called “So that the Invisible Becomes Visible”. It is implemented by the Cawtar center in collaboration with the United Nations Development Fund. It seeks to combat violence against women.

Communications Manager at the Cawtar Center Lobna Najjar pointed out that this training session aims to raise media awareness of the issues of violence against women with hearing and visual disabilities so that they can express themselves in media outlets.

She specified that this session will focus on mechanisms allowing journalists to fulfill their role in addressing this issue.
