Luanda: The Commission for the Implementation of the Reconciliation Plan in Memory of the Victims of Political Conflicts (CIVICOP) has released a provisional list of women victims of the events of May 27, 1977.
According to Angola Press News Agency, CIVICOP has urged family members to assist in the identification process by providing biological samples for DNA testing. This step is essential for identifying the remains and ensuring their return to the families.
The samples can be submitted at the Central Criminalistics Laboratory in the Popular Neighborhood and at facilities in Leo XIV Square, Kilamba. This initiative is integral to the national reconciliation process and aims to honor the memory of the victims of political conflicts, as stated by CIVICOP.
The provisional list includes names and locations of the women believed to be victims, such as Ana Maria da Silva Pinto from Luanda and Ant³nia de Sousa Paim from Benguela, among others. The list serves as a critical step in the ongoing efforts to reconcile and acknowledge past events.
