Quipungo: A delegation from the Climate Resilience and Water Security Project (RECLIMA) has initiated a technical research for the requalification of the Kimaia dam, a strategic infrastructure for water supply, irrigation, and support for agricultural and livestock activities in the municipality of Quipungo, Huila province. Manuel Freitas, the RECLIMA Water project coordinator, presented the objectives of the consultancy responsible for conducting the technical, economic, social, and environmental impact assessments, as well as the pre-feasibility study of the project.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the administrator of Quipungo, Jos© dos Santos Vital, emphasized the significance of the intervention, noting that the recovery of the dam will reinforce the water supply, boost agricultural production, ensure the watering of livestock, and contribute to the improvement of living conditions for the communities. Jos© Vital stated that the requalification of the Kimaia dam is part of the RECLIMA Project aimed at strengthening climate resilience, water security, and the sustainable development of communities.
