Luanda: The administrator of the Competition Regulatory Authority (ARC) Ana Ramalheira on Thursday defended the need to align competition and economic regulation policies closer together to improve market function. Speaking at the National Regulators Forum on "The Importance of Competition in Assessing Public Policies to Regulate Market Functioning," Ramalheira also advocated for the creation and implementation of a culture of competition in Angola and the coexistence of different national public interests.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Ramalheira highlighted that the ARC is a transversal entity that operates across the economy, focusing on analyzing company mergers and acquisitions. The authority has issued more than 50 decisions and 14 recommendations for various sectors, demonstrating its active role in shaping the market landscape.
The fourth National Regulators Forum was organized by the Ministry of Finance through the ARC. The forum seeks to unite different entities and experts for an inclusive discussion on pertinent and timely issues impacting the economic regulation agenda and the defense of competition in Angola.
