A cooperation agreement was inked on Friday between Minister for Higher Education and Scientific Research Moncef Boukthir, and Minister for Communication Technologies Nizar Ben Néji in a bid to facilitate access to e-services through digital identity and the intangible exchange of data.
Falling under the government’s efforts to strengthen the digital transformation process, this agreement aims to give students easier access to e-services (registration, university accommodation, grants).
It will further help use the digital identity on the mobile phone (Mobil ID) as a device enabling students, researchers, teachers and administrative staff to access e-services in a simplified manner, reads a Higher Education Ministry press release.
It will also make it possible to gradually use electronic signatures and electronic visual stamps in administrative procedures and online official documents that require electronic commitments and proof, the same source reads.
The agreement further aims to promote the immateria
l exchange of data, simplify administrative procedures and reduce the number of documents required by the administration, in addition to using the E-Barid service and electronic addresses to improve communication between the administration and citizens.
