Narok County has hailed the contribution of the government of Japan that has seen infrastructure in most schools in the region uplifted. Speaking at Simwotet Secondary school in Transmara East where he officially received projects sponsored by the government of Japan to the tune of Sh12.5 million, Deputy Governor Tamalinye Koech on behalf of the Narok County Government said the close working relationship between the two administrations witnessed will be strengthened further for the benefit of posterity. Oozing optimism, Tamalinye said that the infrastructure will go a long way in uplifting standards of education in the region and he reiterated the government’s commitment to work with like-minded partners for the sake of development. ‘We thank the government of Japan for the generosity which has now seen Simwotet Primary and Secondary schools get six modern classrooms, three consultation rooms, a dormitory, ablution blocks and water tanks. This investment will go a long way to eradicate poverty and ignorance,’ he said. Leading the Japanese delegation was the Second Secretary Economic Affairs and Co-operation Section, Nishimura Masaya who reiterated the desire of the Japanese Government to see education uplifted as he praised the good working relationships between Japanese Government, the Kenyan Government and devolved units. Present during the function were Transmara East Deputy County Commissioner Buxton Mayabi, County Director of Education Jane Mutua, County Executive Committee Members Robert Simotwo ( Education), Josephine Ng’eno ( Public Service Management), Johanna Rotich ( Environment) among other guests.
