Covid-19: Angola reports 301 new infections, 285 recoveries

Luanda- At least 301 new cases, 285 patients recovered and four deaths are the results of the last 24 hours announced Tuesday by the Angolan health authorities.

According to the daily bulletin, 202 were diagnosed in Luanda, 37 in Huambo, 29 in Zaire, 11 in Benguela, 7 in Moxico, 6 in Huila, 5 in Bié, 3 in Lunda Sul and 1 in Lunda Norte.

Among the new cases whose ages range between 6 months and 88 years, 186 are male and 115 are female.

In the last 24 hours, 2,488 samples were processed by RT-PCR, with a positivity rate of 12.1 percent.

According to the bulletin, 126 of those recovered reside in Huambo, 57 in Benguela, 48 in Moxico, 14 in Lunda Norte, 13 in Bié, 13 in Lunda Sul, 6 in Huila, 5 in Luanda and 3 in Uige.

The deaths of three male citizens and one female citizen occurred in the provinces of Luanda, with three, and Benguela with one, respectively.

Angola has a cumulative number of 94,275 confirmed cases, of which 7,478 are active, 1,870 have died and 84,927 have been recovered.

Of the active cases, 5 are critical, 32 serious, 45 moderate, 71 light and 7 325 asymptomatic.

In the treatment centres, 153 patients are hospitalised, while 118 are serving institutional quarantine.
