Covid-19: Angola reports 494 recoveries, 222 new cases

Luanda – The Angolan health authorities announced, Saturday, the recovery of 494 patients, 222 new cases and 5 deaths, in the last 24 hours.

According to the daily bulletin, of those recovered, 245 live in Luanda, 145 in Huambo, 50 in Benguela, 25 in Huila, 17 in Namibe and 12 in Lunda Sul.

Meanwhile, he said, 59 of the new cases were registered in Luanda, 52 in Huambo, 50 in Huila, 24 in Zaire, 19 in Namibe, 13 in Benguela, 2 in Malanje, 2 in Bié, and 1 in Lunda Sul.

Aged between 4 months and 84 years, 125 are male and 97 are female.

In the last 24 hours, 587 samples were processed by RT-PCR, with a positivity rate of 21.6%.

The deaths were registered in the provinces of Huíla, with 2, Malanje, 2, and Luanda with 1.

The country has a cumulative total of 93,524 confirmed cases, of which 8,581 are active, 1,857 have died and 83,086 have been recovered.

Of the 8,581 active cases, 13 are critical, 32 serious, 56 moderate, 67 light and 8,413 asymptomatic.

In the treatment centres, 168 patients are hospitalised, while 129 are serving institutional quarantine.
