Covid-19: Authorities announce 22 recoveries, 21 new cases

Luanda – The Angolan health authorities announced, on Thursday, 22 recoveries from coronavirus infection in the last twenty-four hours, plus 21 new cases and one death.

According to the update, from the recoveries, 21 reside in Luanda Province and 1 in Namibe Province.

Among the new Covid-19 cases, 16 were diagnosed in Luanda, 4 in Namibe, 2 in Moxico, 2 in Zaire and 1 in Lunda Sul. Of these, 16 were male and 5 female, whose ages range from 1 month to 63 years.

In the last 24 hours, the labs processed 1,872 samples, with a daily positivity rate of 1.1 per cent.

As regards the reported death, the victim was a 41-year old man from Benguela Province.

Overall, the country now has 98,474 recorded cases (with 96,162 reoveries), 1,897 deaths, and 415 active (diseased). Of the active cases 1 is in critical condition, 1 moderate, 6 mild, and 407 asymptomatic.

In treatment centres, there are 8 in-patients, 12 in institutional quarantine and 402 in home quarantine.
