Dundo – Health workers, education, defence and security personnel, the elderly and members of the government of Lunda Norte started to take the second dose of the Astrazeneca vaccine on Monday.
According to the spokeswoman for the Multisectoral Commission for the Response to Covid-19 in Lunda Norte, Filomena Simão, 12,600 doses of the vaccine are available and will be administered to the professionals in the municipalities of Chitato, Cuango, Lóvua, Lucapa and Capenda Camulemba.
She added that five vaccination posts had been set up in the same number of municipalities, and said that the technicians involved in the campaign had been trained, and called on the vaccinated citizens to avoid the use of alcoholic beverages.
In the first phase 11,540 doses of the same vaccine were made available.
The province of Lunda Norte has a record of 236 positive cases, of which 232 were recovered and four died.
