Porto:The Executive Secretary of the Community of Portuguese-Speaking Countries (CPLP), Maria de Fatima Jardim, took part in the 'Africa-Europe Dialogue Infrastructure - Financing and Execution' conference held in Porto, Portugal. The event focused on the challenges and opportunities in infrastructure development across Africa.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the conference was organized by the Porto University Business School and gathered public decision-makers, financial institutions, and business sector representatives. Discussions centered on infrastructure development in Africa, emphasizing the financing and execution of various projects.
The initiative, which included the participation of the Africa Futures Center, sought to analyze the role of infrastructure in Africa's development and aimed to strengthen cooperation between Africa and Europe. Maria de Fatima Jardim, speaking at the closing ceremony, highlighted the importance of cooperation between CPLP countries and other nations from both continents in addressing infrastructure challenges.
The event featured contributions from the Ministers of Infrastructure and Housing of Portugal, Miguel Luz, and Angola, Carlos Alberto dos Santos, alongside Joo Machatine, the coordinator of the Central Office for Reforms and Strategic Projects of Mozambique's Presidency. The conference aimed to foster dialogue on financing and project execution, encouraging partnerships across public and private sectors to tackle development challenges.
