Menongue: The provincial governor of Cubango, Jos© Martins, announced on Tuesday that the province is ready to welcome business ventures and enhance its local potential. This announcement was made during the launch of Expo Cubango/2026, held in Menongue, where he extended invitations to entrepreneurs, producers, traders, investors, financial institutions, and other economic partners to engage in the inaugural edition of the event.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Expo Cubango/2026 is scheduled to take place from September 10th to 13th at the Banca field, on the outskirts of Menongue, under the theme "Expo Cubango - The Meeting of Innovation, Investment and Sustainable Development." Governor Martins emphasized the government's intention to utilize the expo as a platform to promote local production, business opportunities, and investment, thereby showcasing the province's potential.
Martins highlighted that the expo would serve as a meeting ground for producers and consumers, entrepreneurs and investors, and companies and financial institutions, facilitating collaboration between the government and the private sector. The event aims to attract substantial participation from both national and international investors, providing a venue for experience exchange and business creation through over 100 exhibitors.
He further stated that Expo Cubango should be a hub for presenting products, discussing business, showcasing potential, and attracting investors through sustainable partnerships. The governor asserted that Cubango should be recognized as a land rich in production, opportunities, and investment, stressing the importance of cooperation with various economic operators.
In light of the current economic climate, Martins noted the necessity of transforming potential into tangible production, jobs, and businesses, thereby creating opportunities for local families. He urged the private sector to transition from mere raw material production to value-added transformation and commercialization.
The government is committed to establishing favorable conditions, setting priority policies, enhancing the institutional environment, and ensuring the requisite infrastructure, Martins assured. Organized by C CALAS - Angola, Expo Cubango/2026 has already secured the participation of 35 exhibitors from the provinces of Luanda, Cabinda, Lunda-Sul, Cunene, Cuanza-Norte, and Malange.
The inaugural edition will feature workshops, conferences, an exhibition of products and services, a Livestock Fair, and visits to tourist sites, showcasing the attractions and key assets of the Cubango province.
