Defence Minister to Visit Key Military Installations in Moxico Province

Luanda: The minister of National Defence, Former Combatants, and Veterans of the Fatherland, Lºcio Gon§alves Amaral, is slated to undertake a work visit to Moxico Province this Friday. This visit is part of an ongoing agenda aimed at engaging with military structures positioned across the nation's strategic regions.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister's trip to eastern Angola will center on evaluating the operational readiness and activities of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA). The itinerary includes significant stops at the Eastern Military Region Command, the 72nd Motorized Infantry Brigade, and the local Military Training Center. These visits will provide the minister an opportunity to review the internal organization, logistical conditions, and troop preparedness in this crucial area of the country.

This visit underscores the Ministry of Defence's commitment to maintaining regular oversight of military regions. The initiative is designed to ensure the smooth functioning of military units and to enhance coordination between military operations and local administrative bodies.

Moxico Province's strategic geographical location, bordering several Southern African nations, positions it as a pivotal component in Angola's territorial defence strategy. It is frequently highlighted for its importance in the FAA's organizational and operational capabilities.
