Luanda – Electronic notifications via e-mail and mobile messages sent to taxpayers by the General Tax Administration (AGT), for the settlement of property and motor vehicle taxes, become comprehensive.
The move follows the approval Thursday of the Legal Regime on Electronic Communication of Fiscal Procedure and Tax Execution Procedure.
The Executive, through the Ministry of Finance, updates and extends the General Tax Administration (AGT)’s services, whose communication (email and SMS) restricted only to the large taxpayers and high income companies.
The document, approved at the 2nd Ordinary Session of the Economic Commission of the Cabinet Council, makes the process more comprehensive to all taxpayers.
The process covers individual taxpayers, with regard to their tax duties in the field of payment of property taxes and motor vehicle taxes.
The minister of Finance Vera Daves said that taxpayers are no longer dependent on paper notifications, starting to receive emails or sms, reminding them of the fiscal responsibilities.
With the annual payment system, the Property Tax rate in Angola stands at 0.5% on the amount of the asset value that exceeds AKz 5 million.
As for the buildings that are rented, it is applied the effective rate of 15% of the total rent.
The Motor Tax is an annual contribution by the owners of motor vehicles – light and heavy cars, motorcycles, mopeds, tricycles, quadricycles, aircraft and boats.
