Election 2022: Church leader calls on competing parties to accept election outcome

Dundo – Bishop of Diocese of Dundo, eastern Lunda Norte province, Estanislau Chindecasse on Wednesday called on political parties running for 24 August to “accept and respect for the people’s will, expressed in polling booths”, without any excuse.

The call was made at press conference after the religious leader has exercised his citizenship right.

He asked the political parties to “not encourage mistrust of the process”, avoiding in this way, any behaviour that disrupt the electoral process.

I hope that the process will indeed run smoothly with transparency and that all parties are expected to accept the results without challenging them or using excuse”, the prelate has appealed.

“I hope that the process would be conducted in a transparent manner and that all contending political parties accept the results without challenge or use subterfuge.

On the other hand, he praised the civic and patriotic behaviour the Angolans demonstrated in this process, having urged the citizens to continue acting so until the end of the process.
