Luanda – CASA-CE leader Manuel Fernandes Monday in Luanda discussed the election process with the Spanish ambassador Manuel Lajarreta, and experts from the European Union ( EU).
At the end of the meeting, Manuel Fernandes told the press that he asked EU diplomats, in their capacity as experts in election observation, to monotor the Angolan process and prepare a report in line with the Angolan reality.
The meeting also served to raise concerns on alleged breach of the Electoral Law, with stress to the alleged partiality by some media outlets.
He also spoke of the need for the list delegates to be found at all polling stations, in order to monitor the real will of citizens expressed at the polls.
Manuel Fernandes said it was crucial that the process, which goes from counting votes to converting them into mandates, goes smoothly.
The politician appealed to the competing parties to accept the result of the polls, as it is the will of the people.
CASA-CE includes the Angolan Majority Free Alliance Party (PALMA), Support Party for Democracy and Development of Angola – Patriotic Alliance (PADDA-AP), Angolan Pacific Party (PPA), Angola National Salvation Party (PNSA) ) and the Angolan National Alliance for Progress (PDP-ANA).
Created on 3 April 2012, the coalition participated for the firest time in general elections in 2012, when it elected eight MPs to Parliament. In 2017 it gained 16 MPs, corresponding to 9.45 percent of valid votes.
