Elections2022: PHA and CASA-CE inaugurate headquarters in Malanje

Malanje – The president of the Humanist Party of Angola (PHA), Florbela Malaquias, inaugurated in Malanje town centre the provincial headquarters of her party.

On the occasion, Florbela Malaquias said that the building which has an administrative office, secretariat, meeting room and other rooms, is aimed at granting dignity to her party´s representation in the north-central province of Malanje in order to make its political work more efficient.

The inauguration of the infrastructure is part of the electoral campaign launching of PHA in that region.

The leader of the party, expressed satisfaction with the reception of her party´s militants and supporters in Malanje, to whom she said that they have taken a “message of hope”.

The head of PHA list, candidate for President of the Republic, Florbela Malaquias, who is leading a mass political event in the informal market of “Xawande” on Friday, called on citizens to vote for her party, with a view to improving the living conditions of families, if her party wins the elections.

On his turn, the provincial secretary of the Broad Convergence for the Salvation of Angola – Electoral Coalition (CASA-CE), Moisés Fonseca Ngunza inaugurated the coalition headquarters in the Municipality of Cambundi-Katembo, Province of Malanje.

According to the official, the opening of the infrastructure marks the beginning of the cohesion among activists towards the electoral dispute.

The provincial secretariat of CASA-CE also held a door-to-door mobilization campaign in the Municipality of Mucari to spread the electoral manifesto and government programme, in case of winning the general election of 24 August.

In this constituency the official promised to improve the population´s living condition namely the expansion of the electricity grid, humanised care in health units, creation and increase of jobs for young people, as well as revitalising agriculture, industry and fisheries, with a view to economic diversification

On 24 August, Angolans will vote for the fifth time to elect the President of the Republic, the Vice President and the 220 members of the Parliament.

The 2017 ballot, contested by six political forces, was attended by 76.57% of the approximately 9.3 million registered voters.

For this general elections the parties MPLA, FNLA, PRS, UNITA, P-NJANGO, PHA, APN and the CASA-CE coalition are the contestants.

Roughly 14.3 million citizens are expected to vote, more than half of whom are concentrated in the provinces of Luanda, Huíla, Benguela and Huambo, which are the country’s four biggest electoral wards, which together make up a total of 8.211 million voters, or 57.2%, of which 4.671 million are in Luanda (37%).
