Electoral commission strengthens citizens’ confidence

Lisbon – The spokesman for the National Electoral Commission (CNE) Lucas Quilundo said Tuesday that the institution is committed to strengthening citizens’ confidence in electoral institutions.

The official was speaking to the press in Lisbon, Portugal, after the conference on “Electoral enlightenment and new techniques and technologies-reflection on “Fake news” and Artificial Intelligence in elections”.

The colloquium was held by the ROJAE-CPLP Network of Jurisdictional Bodies and Electoral Administration.

According to Lucas Quilundo, the CNE imposes that citizens must be informed about the elections, so that they can exercise their right to vote.

The meeting discussed topics such as “Media, fake news and artificial intelligence tools in electoral processes and freedom of action and equal opportunities for candidacies”.
