Luanda: The 14th edition of the Uige Agricultural and Industrial Fair, Expo-Uge 2025, held from July 3 to 6 in the city of Uige, achieved a remarkable turnover of 550 million kwanzas, significantly surpassing the 300 million kwanzas recorded in the previous edition. This was announced by Carlos Calas, the chairman of the board of directors (PCA) of CCalas Angola, during the awards gala for participating companies.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Carlos Calas emphasized that this year's event exceeded expectations, marking the highest revenue collected from the sale of products at the region's largest exhibition. The fair served as a crucial platform for showcasing the agricultural and industrial capabilities of the participating regions.
The deputy governor of Uge for the Political, Social, and Economic Sector, S³nia Arlete Cahombo, highlighted the event as an opportunity for the 23 municipalities in the region to demonstrate their agricultural potential. The fair attracted around 200 exhibitors from the provinces of Uge, Luanda, Cuanza-Norte, Cabinda, Namibe, and Malange, reflecting a diverse and extensive participation.
Held in celebration of the 108th anniversary of the founding of the city of Uge, the event was staged in an expansive 800,000-square-meter pavilion, providing ample space for exhibitors and visitors.
