Caconda: A total of 50 farmers from the municipality of Caconda, in the southern Province of Huíla, have been presenting the results of local agricultural and livestock production since Saturday at the municipal fair that marks the 91st anniversary of the locality's elevation to town. According to Angola Press News Agency, the municipal administrator, Castilho Cacumba, who opened the event, stated that for over three days, the event, which brings together 50 exhibitors, will offer the public a wide range of agricultural and other products. He highlighted the richness of local production and emphasized the chosen motto for the celebration, "Caconda, 91 years of History and Commitment to Sustainable Development." This motto reaffirms the municipality's dedication to fostering economic and social growth sustainably, aligning with current needs and future aspirations. The exhibition features a variety of products, including corn, beans, potatoes, cassava, avocados, bananas, as well as cattle and pigs. In additi on to showcasing these goods, the event also hosted the Local Development Forum on the opening day. The forum addressed key issues for the municipality's future, such as investment opportunities in agriculture, trade, hotel, and tourism sectors. The event underscored the significance of field schools in diversifying agricultural production and discussed the Project for the Construction of the Economic Geography of the Province of Huíla. This project aims to compile essential information, economic indicators, the value chain, and the extensive business and investment opportunities available in the region.
