Catete: The Secretary of State for Territory Administration, Teresa Luis Quivienguele, emphasized the transformative impact of the Financial Education and Inclusion Program (PEIF) during her address in Catete, Icolo e Bengo province. She highlighted how the initiative enables families to generate more wealth by improving their income management skills.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Quivienguele spoke at the commencement of a training seminar focused on financial inclusion and education. She explained that since its inception in 2024, the PEIF has been instrumental in providing the population with enhanced access to financial education and a broader understanding of various banking products.
The Secretary of State noted that the program, which is supported by the National Bank of Angola (BNA) through technical assistance, aims to deliver precise information across different social groups. This partnership is crucial for increasing awareness about effective financial management and the importance of savings.
Quivienguele further elaborated that the PEIF aligns with the National Development Plan (PND) 2022/2027. It is designed to equip families, micro-businesses, and producers with essential knowledge about financial literacy, banking significance, and access to diverse financial products offered by commercial banks in Angola.
The seminar, spanning seven days, will engage participants from various societal segments across the seven municipalities of Icolo and Bengo. Key topics such as "Family Budget" and "Rights and Duties in the Commercialization of Financial Products and Services" will be explored and discussed during the event.
