Luanda: Sixteen people were killed and 36 others injured across Angola over the weekend, according to emergency services data released by the National Civil Protection and Fire Service (SPCB).
According to Angola Press News Agency, of the 16 fatalities, six were caused by drowning, as detailed in an incident report released by the authorities. Two deaths each were attributed to workplace accidents, road crashes, and undetermined causes. Additional single fatalities were linked to suspected suicide by hanging, severe burns, a roof collapse, and a vehicle plunge.
Traffic accidents accounted for the vast majority of non-fatal casualties, leaving 28 people injured. The remaining injuries resulted from fires, structural collapses, physical assault, sporting events, and other accidents, according to the report.
