Luanda: The President of Gabon, Brice Clotaire Oligui Nguema, has expressed his country's interest in training military personnel at the Higher War College of the Angolan Armed Forces (FAA) located in Luanda. This development was highlighted during the Gabonese president's visit to the institution, underscoring the intention to bolster cooperation between the two nations in military education.
According to Angola Press News Agency, Lieutenant General Ant³nio Fernandes, head of Patriotic Education of the General Staff of the FAA, remarked that the visit by the Gabonese president is expected to enhance military relations between Gabon and Angola. He noted that the Higher War College is prepared to carry out its educational missions and emphasized Angola's commitment to continuing and strengthening its cooperative military relationship with Gabon.
During the tour, President Nguema was briefed on the operational aspects of the institution and the various missions undertaken by the Angolan Armed Forces. The visit is part of President Nguema's three-day state visit to Angola, initiated at the invitation of Angolan President Joo Louren§o.
The Higher War College is noted for being the premier military educational institution in Angola. It specializes in training both general and senior officers, equipping them for command and leadership roles, and engaging in research related to military doctrine.
