Lubango: The Minister of Education, Lusa Grilo, on Monday in Lubango, expressed concern about the low performance of children in primary education, which is reflected in the "inability to read texts and perform simple mathematical calculations".
According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister made the statement at the opening of the two-day Consultative Council of the Ministry of Education, which is being held under the theme "Valuing the voices of teachers for a new social contract". The event will feature six discussion panels, including a plenary session on general balance and information, human resources management, collection and processing of statistical data, large-scale assessment, primary education, and preschool education.
The activity will be attended by the undersecretaries of the Ministry of Education, deputy governors, members of the Board of Directors of the Ministry, delegates, directors of provincial offices, municipal administrators, heads of education departments, and partners in the sector.
