Mbanza kongo: The governor of the northern Zaire province, Adriano Mendes de Carvalho, stated on Thursday in Mbanza Kongo that the appointment of a new vice-governor for the Technical and Infrastructure sector aims to boost some ongoing social impact projects in the region.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the governor made the statement during the presentation of the new vice-governor for the Technical and Infrastructure sector, Adelino Kai, recently appointed by the President of the Republic. Among the construction projects in the region that require close monitoring, the governor highlighted the rehabilitation of the Mbanza Kongo/Cuimba/Madimba road, as well as the Nzeto/Quindeje road section.
He also mentioned the works on the drinking water supply systems for the municipalities of Luvo, Soyo, Cuimba, N³qui, and Mpala (Lufico), as well as the construction work on the Soyo Higher Polytechnic Institute and the expansion of the public electricity grid in some localities of the province.
The implementation of the self-directed construction project in all municipalities, as well as the requalification of the city of Mbanza Kongo, is also among the actions that need greater oversight and dynamism. He appealed to the new vice-governor for greater dedication and a sense of mission so that the province can see the social and economic impact projects being carried out in various parts of the region come to fruition in the coming months.
