Lobito: The governor of Benguela, Manuel Nunes Jºnior, demanded on Friday in the city of Lobito, a rigorous evaluation of the implementation of the various programs approved at the third ordinary meeting of the local government in 2025. During the first ordinary meeting of 2026 of the local government, the governor said these programs are fundamental to life in the province of Benguela and should be evaluated at each government session.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the governor emphasized the necessity of understanding the implementation status of these programs in each municipality. He noted that some of the programs were approved in last year's annual report of the Benguela Provincial Government (GPB). These initiatives include the program to support traditional authorities, the intervention program for the social and economic protection of the coastal village of Caota, the literacy revitalization program, and the plan to improve the quality of education.
He further highlighted programs aimed at reintegrating children living on the streets, reducing the vulnerability of former combatants and war veterans, and improving community-led sanitation.
