Malanje: The Minister of Youth and Sports, Rui Falco, reaffirmed Saturday in Malanje that the country's progress depends on solving real problems, based on production, transformation, and innovation, areas where young people should be the main actors. Speaking at the central event ahead of Angolan Youth Day, to be celebrated on April 14, the minister emphasized that Angola's development depends on effective production. He reiterated that the current paradigm requires young people to transcend the role of recipients of support, positioning themselves as protagonists and drivers of economic and social transformation.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the minister admitted that the Youth Ministry has committed to empowering young people in various value chains and challenged the youth to assume, in turn, a proactive entrepreneurial stance. 'We want a youth that produces food, creates wealth, generates jobs and solves concrete problems,' the minister said, adding that in light of the Youth Development Plan 2025-2027, the strategic focus is to transform young people into producers.
The minister underscored that this transformation needs to be materialized in concrete areas, such as agribusiness, agriculture, aquaculture, beekeeping, and local processing industries, and that the institutional responsibility is clear: to facilitate access to financing, guarantee reliable technical assistance, link production to the market and support cooperatives and organized chains.
Falco emphasized that the duty of youth is equally clear and involves abandoning expectation and focusing on execution, stressing that the present generation is 'forbidden to fail' and must act assertively, because the time for waiting has given way to the time for building. "If this generation fails, Angola loses a decade, but if it succeeds, we accelerate the progress of an entire generation," he stressed, pointing out that he believes in the success of young people, which will come not by chance, but through decision, discipline and work, focused on expanding knowledge and creating value for the whole society.
