Governor Urges Expansion of Transport Services on Luanda-Cabinda Route

Luanda: Cabinda Provincial Governor Suzana Abreu on Wednesday called for more private air and maritime transport operators to serve the province in order to improve services provided to the population.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the governor expressed the authorities' interest in attracting more companies from the sector to help address the shortage of air and maritime transport links between Cabinda and other parts of the country. Speaking at the end of a visit to the venue of the 4th Edition of Expo Cabinda 2026, she highlighted the ongoing challenges related to the province's geographical discontinuity, which complicates passenger and cargo transport.

Suzana Abreu emphasized the importance of attracting both domestic and foreign investors to enhance the transport sector. She described Expo Cabinda as a crucial platform for addressing these issues and for identifying sustainable solutions that contribute to the well-being of the population.

The governor underscored the necessity for greater investment in the transport sector, citing strategic infrastructure projects such as the Caio Deepwater Terminal at the Port of Cabinda and the New International Airport. These projects, she noted, are expected to significantly boost both the provincial and national economies.

In addition to the transport sector, the governor stated that the province is open to investment in other areas, including logistics, to improve urban mobility through public transport services. She assured interested companies of the institutional support of the Provincial Government of Cabinda for investment projects in the region.

Expo Cabinda 2026, which runs from 27 to 30 August, has brought together 200 national and international exhibitors.
