Health Minister Pays Homage to Angola Founder of the Nation in Belgrade

Luanda: The Minister of Health, Slvia Lutucuta, paid tribute on Tuesday in Belgrade, Serbia, to the first President of the Republic of Angola, Agostinho Neto, by laying a wreath at the monument dedicated to the Founder of the Nation.

According to Angola Press News Agency, a press release sent by the Embassy of Angola in Serbia indicates that the monument is located in the municipality of New Belgrade and symbolizes the historical relations between the two countries. The tribute by the government official is part of an initiative to honor historical memory and further the friendship and cooperation between Angola and Serbia.

Minister Slvia Lutucuta has been on a working visit to Serbia since Monday to explore bilateral cooperation in the health sector. There are prospects of transforming these relations into a focused agenda that includes staff training, medicine production, scientific research, and innovation, among other areas.

Dialogue between the institutions of Angola and Serbia could advance into formal cooperation and specific projects, particularly in specialized training, technical exchange, health regulation, and the development of laboratory capacities. Additionally, the delegation visited Serbia's Medicines and Medical Devices Agency (ALIMS) to gain insights into Serbia's experience and pinpoint areas for cooperation development in the health sector.
