Huambo:The third annual Huambo Agro-Livestock Fair and Livestock Auction generated 1.7 billion kwanzas in business transactions over its three-day duration from September 23 to 25, according to event organizers.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the fair included a diverse array of sectors such as agriculture, livestock, technology, manufacturing, hospitality, trade, and commercial services. The dedicated livestock auction was a major contributor, generating 197 million kwanzas through the sale of 92 lots, including cattle, goats, sheep, poultry, and pigs.
In total, 434 head of livestock were showcased, creating a direct marketplace for regional producers and buyers. The event featured 102 exhibitors from various Angolan provinces and international representatives from India, who expressed interest in investing in large-scale corn production and heavy vehicles in Huambo.
The fair attracted over 11,000 visitors from Angola and countries like Namibia, South Africa, Brazil, and Portugal, emphasizing its significance in boosting regional agriculture, showcasing economic potential, and encouraging investment in central Angola.
The event was part of the broader third edition of Expo-Huambo, aimed at enhancing industrial productivity, fostering partnerships, and supporting economic diversification.
