Icolo e Bengo Authorities Demand Regularization of Outdoor Advertisements Within a Week

Icolo e bengo: The Provincial Government of Icolo e Bengo has issued a directive to advertising operators mandating the regularization of their advertising fees within seven days. Failure to comply will result in the coercive removal of their signs from public spaces.

According to Angola Press News Agency, the directive targets outdoor advertising operators, economic agents, companies, institutions, and the general public, requiring them to either regularize their advertising or voluntarily remove any irregular outdoor advertisements. This initiative covers various advertising formats, including panels, superstructures, billboards, banners, posters, plaques, signs, murals, and similar structures.

The Provincial Government of Icolo e Bengo, as per a document accessed by ANGOP, clarifies that outdoor advertising in public spaces is only permitted for entities legally authorized and certified by the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies and Social Communication (MINTTICS). Entities or individuals lacking such authorization are prohibited from installing billboards outside their commercial or institutional premises.

The statement, authenticated by Governor Auzlio Jacob, emphasizes the necessity of this measure to ensure adherence to standards concerning public space occupation, urban planning, road safety, environmental preservation, and urban aesthetics. The government stresses the importance of collaboration and voluntary compliance with legal provisions to promote a more organized, safe, and aesthetically balanced province.

Should the deadline pass without compliance, the government warns that all irregular advertisements will be removed without prior notice. The materials will only be returned once the situation is regularized, and any fines or legally applicable charges are settled.
