Icolo e Bengo Governor Issues Seven-Day Deadline for Advertisement Fee Compliance

Luanda: The Provincial Government of Icolo e Bengo has mandated advertising operators in the region to regularize their advertising fee payments within a seven-day period or face the coercive removal of their signs from public spaces. According to Angola Press News Agency, the directive targets outdoor advertising operators, economic agents, companies, institutions, and citizens who are required to either regularize or voluntarily remove any irregular outdoor advertising during this period. The measure, which became effective on Tuesday, applies to various advertising supports, including panels, superstructures, billboards, banners, posters, plaques, signs, murals, and similar formats. The Provincial Government of Icolo e Bengo has clarified that only legally authorized entities with certificates from the Ministry of Telecommunications, Information Technologies, and Social Communication (MINTTICS) are permitted to use outdoor advertising in public areas. Unauthorized entities or individuals are prohibited f rom installing billboards outside their commercial or institutional activity locations. Governor Auzílio Jacob, authenticating the statement, highlighted that the regulation is designed to ensure adherence to standards concerning public space occupation, urban planning, road safety, environmental preservation, and urban aesthetics. The government is urging cooperation and voluntary compliance with the legal requirements to foster a more organized, secure, and urbanistically balanced province. The statement warns that any irregular advertisements not addressed within the seven-day timeframe will be removed without prior notice. The materials seized will only be returned once the situation is regularized and all relevant fines and charges have been settled.
