Dande: The Minister of Interior Manuel Homem inaugurated an Integrated Municipal Center (CIM) of the Ministry of the Interior in the municipality of Dande, Bengo province. The project, budgeted at over 600 million kwanzas, was constructed as part of the Integrated Intervention Plan for Municipalities (PIIM) and aims to enhance the operational capacity of defense, security, and public order bodies in the region.
According to Angola Press News Agency, the new infrastructure consolidates the services of the National Police, Migration and Foreigners Service (SME), Criminal Investigation Service (SIC), Penitentiary Services, and Civil Protection and Firefighters in one location. This integration is intended to streamline operations and improve service delivery in the region.
Minister Homem, while addressing the press, emphasized that the completion of the project fulfills a commitment made during prior working visits to the province. These visits identified several service needs under the Ministry of the Interior. The establishment of the CIM is expected to enhance the performance of various services, including the National Police, the Criminal Investigation Service, the Penitentiary Services, and the Civil Protection and Fire Service. The minister highlighted that this initiative will ensure greater proximity and speed in addressing the concerns of the local population.
