Jamba Mineira Seeks Investment for Water and Tourism Potential in FMCA

Benguela: The municipal administration of Jamba Mineira, located in Huíla province, is set to showcase its mineral, water, tourism, and cultural potential at the 5th edition of the Fair of Municipalities and Cities of Angola (FMCA). The objective is to attract investment opportunities to the region. According to Angola Press News Agency, the event, scheduled from the 7th to the 10th of this month in Benguela, will feature a delegation from Jamba Mineira. The delegation, which traveled on Monday, will present samples of iron, cereals, tubers, and citrus fruits, along with images of natural landscapes and the availability of arable land. The exhibit aims to highlight the municipality's potential to draw investments from the business community. Luís Marcelo, the administrator of Jamba Mineira, stated that the exhibit will also focus on inland fishing, livestock, and beekeeping. The primary goal is to attract new investors, exchange experiences, and establish partnerships in various sectors. Marcelo emphasized the importance of showcasing Jamba Mineira's offerings to both national and international audiences. Local statistics reveal that Jamba Mineira has more than 50,000 hectares of arable land, with 12,000 hectares suitable for irrigation. Despite this, areas around the Colui, Calonga, and Kwandja rivers, as well as two dense lagoons derived from these watercourses, remain underutilized. Beyond agriculture, the region seeks investment in continental fishing and the timber industry, leveraging its diverse woody vegetation.
