Benguela – The Minister of Justice and Human Rights, Francisco Queiroz, said Thursday that the setting up of 29 district courts in different provinces of the country was one of the gains of the judicial reform implemented by the Angolan government.
At the opening of the 16th Consultative Council of that ministerial department, which runs from today until Friday in Benguela, Francisco Queiroz also pointed out that in the 2017-2022 period three courts of appeal had been opened in the provinces of Benguela, Huíla and Luanda.
He highlighted the conclusion of the process of autonomy and independence of the courts, as a result of the resizing of the Administration of Justice, through the transfer, in May 2019, to the Superior Council of the Judiciary of the administrative, financial, patrimonial and human resources management of the common courts of first instance
On the other hand, he underlined the training actions in this legislature, with the National Institute of Judicial Studies (INEJ) training 439 magistrates and 1,419 registry, notary and civil and criminal identification officers.
He added that in the field of career progression, three internal public recruitments were held, allowing for the promotion of 6,969 officials, with 3,735 in 2018, 1,677 in 2019, and 1,557 in 2021.
