Boulgou: The Koglweogo self-defense groups of Boulgou province, along with the citizen watchdog association Jeunesse Panafricaniste Burkindi de Tenkodogo, convened a rally to express support for the country's highest authorities. The gathering took place in front of the royal court of Tenkodogo and included participation from approximately sixty self-defense groups from the thirteen communes of Boulgou, as well as customary and religious authorities, and Koglweogo representatives from other provinces.
According to Burkina Information Agency, Salif Bangr©, who chairs both the organizing committee and the Koglweogo of the commune of Tenkodogo, stated that the meeting aimed to show solidarity with the combatant forces, the government, and the nation's leaders. He emphasized their commitment to reclaiming the territory. "Through this meeting, we want to salute the efforts of the authorities and see to what extent we, the Koglweogo self-defense groups, can contribute to the return of peace to our country, so that everyone can work and feed themselves by the sweat of their brow," Bangr© remarked.
Issouf Zour©, the provincial president of the Koglweogo of Boulgou, highlighted the dedication of his members, recalling instances where they disarmed roadblocks. Zour© stressed their desire to serve the nation faithfully, while noting the need for authorization and resources from the authorities to effectively reclaim the territory. He stated, "We want to serve the nation loyally. We, the Koglweogo of Boulgou, wish to contribute to the reconquest of our territory. But we cannot do so fully without weapons and without the authorization of the highest authorities."
The seventy self-defense groups answered the call to action, urging authorities to permit their active participation in territorial reconquest. Zour© emphasized the urgency of the situation, expressing a desire to collaborate with regional authorities and the VDP to create a unified front. "We can no longer continue to let these terrorists humiliate and kill our parents. We wish to meet with the regional authorities to make concrete proposals so that, hand in hand with the VDP, we can form a solid group so that everyone can contribute to the reconquest of the territory," he concluded.
