Kourittenga: The Center-East Water Police service, along with the Nakambé Water Agency (AEN) and local authorities, conducted a control and awareness campaign on Tuesday, June 17, 2025. The initiative targeted promoters of pre-packaged water units, autonomous water stations, and riverbank operators in the towns of Koupéla and Pouytenga, emphasizing the importance of adhering to current regulations. According to Burkina Information Agency, the inspection drive by the Water Police of the Center-East was well-received by the various promoters of pre-packaged water production units and riverbank operators in Koupéla and Pouytenga. The stakeholders expressed that this initiative would help ensure compliance with the regulations for the benefit of all residents. Some autonomous water stations were required to suspend operations due to non-compliance with existing regulations. Ezéchias Ouédraogo, the head of the regional water police service, urged developers of pre-packaged water units and autonomous water statio ns to adhere to the regulations consistently. He highlighted the importance for all stakeholders, including riverbank operators, to follow the authorities' instructions to avoid potential issues. Ouédraogo noted a positive trend towards compliance among pre-packaged water units. Meanwhile, Moctar Ilboudo, High Commissioner of Kourittenga Province, urged stakeholders to strictly follow regulations, aligning with the government's aim to ensure the well-being of the population.
